Yazoo Market Chocolate Chess Pie

Ingredients

  • 1 Pâte Brisée, chilled and ready to roll (see note)
  • 300 g sugar (1 1/2 cups)
  • 3 1/2 Tbs cocoa powder
  • 8 Tbs unsalted butter, melted 1 stick
  • 2/3 cup evaporated milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 Tbs vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Roll out pie crust on a lightly floured work surface and fit into a 9-inch pie pan. Trim edges.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together sugar and cocoa. Add melted butter, evaporated milk, eggs, and vanilla extract. Whisk to combine.
  • Pour into pie shell, and place on a baking sheet to catch any overflow.
  • Bake about 45 minutes; the center will still be jiggly.
  • Cool to room temperature before serving.

We suggest using our favorite Pâte Brisée recipe, but if you have a favorite pie crust recipe, use that/.
