Yellow Cherries

weekly CSA produce share
This week’s share included cherry tomatoes, which we promptly included in a salad.

Not cherries that grow on trees, but cherry tomatoes, which we love. They have a couple of advantages over the full-size tomatoes. They seem more flavorful and they don’t bruise as easily. The latter is important because our tomatoes are often picked when they’re ripe (unlike store tomatoes, which are often picked green), and a trip on the produce truck can induce a few bruises here and there on those ripe tomatoes.

And, look, green beans. One of those vegetables that scream summer is here.

Our share included:

  • Cherry tomatoes (1 basket)
  • Red Cimarron onions (2)
  • Cucumbers (4)
  • Summer squash (3)
  • Cantaloupe (1)
  • Red La Soda potatoes (3)
  • Green beans (1 bag)
  • Roasted green chiles (1 bag)
