Another week’s worth of produce. This week includes:
- Oranges (3)
- Sweet Potatoes (4)
- Carrots (bunch)
- Arugula (bunch)
- Purple-top turnips (bunch)
- Salad mix (bag)
- Spring onions (bunch)
- Black radishes (bunch) — traded for 3 more oranges.
We decided to use up the turnips immediately. For us, they are the most difficult on the list to use in a way that we actually enjoy. So, we immediately made up a batch of Masala Shalgam or Spicy Turnips. We thought it was pretty good, and it used some carrots and onions, as well, so we’ll be posting that later this week.
Everything else, well, we’re not sure yet, but we’ll update you before our next CSA pickup.
Update February 9: Well, the oranges we’ve just been eating: super sweet and juicy. The arugula and salad mix we’ve used for salads and on sandwiches (made with KBB bagels). The spring onions are gone, we used those in various savory dishes we’ve been working on and a frittata. Those sweet potatoes are still in the cupboard awaiting use. Oh, they’ll get used, we just have to find the right dish.
